The XD in LC 2.5XD stands for "extra deep," and the bait will dive to 15 feet on a standard cast. While it will reach good diving depth, the bait is not overly large and this is part of the appeal. It's an averaged size crankbait that will get down to where the fish live.

"It's a pretty deep diver in a smaller package," says Brent Ehrler. "It shines on heavily pressured lakes when everyone is throwing a big deep-diving crankbait in the summertime. I'll also pick it up when I'm fishing bigger baits and the bite stops all of a sudden when fishing a school of bass offshore. Downsizing to a slightly smaller crankbait can sometimes pay off, and you can usually pick up an extra fish or two."
