Editing a Product

You use the Catalog Editor module to edit an existing product in a catalog. For example, if you want to edit the picture illustrating a product on your Web site, you can edit the image file name to reflect the new image.

Note

• You cannot edit the name of a product.

To edit a product

1. In Catalogs, click Catalog Editor.
   
   
2. In the Catalogs screen, select the catalog you want to edit, and then click on the toolbar.
   
   
3. In the Catalog - <Catalog Name> screen, in the Products section, select the product you want to edit from the Products list, and then click Edit.
   
   
4. In the Catalog Editor - <Catalog Name> (product) screen, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Description	Type a description for the product property.
   Image_filename	Type the file name of the image used on the Web site for the product.
   Image_width	Type the numeric width (in pixels) of the image.
   Image_height	Type the numeric height (in pixels) of the image.
   Price	Type the product price (if applicable).

   
   

   Note

   • The property boxes on the screen can vary depending on the type of product you selected. You can edit the properties on this screen that are not read-only and are not assigned by Commerce Server 2000.
5. To save the changes and return to the Catalog - <Catalog Name> screen, click on the toolbar.

After you make your edits, you must refresh and publish your Web site in order for your edits to appear on your site. For information about refreshing and publishing your edits, see Refreshing and Publishing a Catalog.
