Creating a User
You use the Users module to manage registered users — those Web site users who are recognized by your site because they have completed an online registration form, or in some way have established a user account on your site.
In this lab, you will be adding three new users for the World Wide Importers Company: an administrator, a delegated administrator, and a non-administrator user.
To create an administrator
- In Users, click Users.
- In the Users screen, click
on the toolbar.
- In the New User screen, in the General information section, do the following:

- In the Account Info section, do the following:

World Wide Importers appears in the Name box.

- Click OK.
- In the Account Info section, in the Account status box, select Active Account from the drop-down list.
- In the Business Desk section, in the Partner service role flags box, select Administrator from the drop-down list.
- To save the new user and return to the Users screen, click
on the toolbar.
The new user is saved in the World Wide Importers organization.
To create a delegated administrator
- To open the SupplierAD site, in Internet Explorer type http://<computername>/SupplierAD on the Address line.
- On the SupplierAD site Sign-in screen, do the following:

- Click Submit.
Partner Service appears in the left pane.
- In the left pane, under Partner Service, click Users, and then above the user information, click New.
- In the Account Info section, from the Account status drop-down list, select Active.
- In the Business Desk section, from the Partner service role flags drop-down list, select Delegated Admin.
- In the General information section, do the following:

- Click Save, and then click Close.
Betty User is saved as a delegated administrator.
- Close the browser window.
To create a non-administrator user
- To open the SupplierAD site, in Internet Explorer type http://<computername>/SupplierAD on the Address line.
- On the SupplierAD site Sign-in screen, do the following:

- Click Submit.
- In the left pane under Partner Service, click Users, and then click New.
- In the AccountInfo section, select Active from the Account Status drop-down list.
- In the Business Desk section, from the Partner service role flags drop-down list, select User.
- In the General information section, do the following:

- Click Save, and then click Close.
Barney User is saved as a non-administrator user.
- Close the browser window.
Site Verification Steps
To verify that BarneyUser is NOT a delegated administrator
- To open the SupplierAD site, in Internet Explorer type http://<computername>/SupplierAD on the Address line.
- On the SupplierAD site Sign-in screen, do the following:

- Click Submit.
No Partner Services are listed.
- Click the Keyboards category.
Note
- Because there is only one catalog available, the site displays the catalog categories rather than the name of the catalog.
- Click Microsoft® Internet Keyboard Pro, scroll down, and then click Add to Basket.
- In the Quantity box, type 5, and then click Update.
The total price includes a quantity of five keyboards on the basket page.
- Close the browser window.
To verify that the basket exists in Business Desk
- In Orders, click Basket Manager.
- In the Basket Manager screen, in the Find screen, from the Find By drop-down list, select All Baskets.
- Click Find Now.
The order by Barney User appears on the Find screen.
