Adding a User with a New Profile

You use the Users module to manage registered users — those Web site users who are recognized by your site because they have completed an online registration form, or in some way have established a user account on your site.

In this lab, you will be adding two new users with the new site terms, Line and Staff that you created in the previous lab.

To create the Line user

1. In Users, click Users.
   
   
2. In the Users screen, click on the toolbar.
   
   
3. In the New User screen, in the General Information section, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Logon name	Type JackUser.
   User password	Type open_sesame.
   Email	Type JackUser@WWImporters.com.
   Last name	Type User.
   First name	Type Jack.
   Job role	Click Job role, and then select Line from the drop-down list.

   
   
4. In the Account Info section, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Organization ID	Click the ellipse button […] to open the Select Organization dialog box. Select World Wide Importers, and then click OK.
   Account status	Select Active Account from the drop-down list.

   
   
5. In the Business Desk section, in the Partner service role flags box, select Normal User from the drop-down list.
   
   
6. To save the user and return to the Users screen, click on the toolbar.

Jack User has been created as the Line user for the World Wide Importers organization.

To create the Staff user

1. In Users, click Users.
   
   
2. In the Users screen, click on the toolbar.
   
   
3. In the New User screen, in the General Information section, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Logon name	Type JillUser.
   User password	Type open_sesame.
   E-mail	Type JillUser@WWImporters.com.
   Last name	Type User.
   First name	Type Jill.
   Job Role	Click Job Role, and then select Staff from the drop-down list.

   
   
4. In the Account Info section, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Organization ID	Click the ellipse button […] to open the Select Organization dialog box. Select World Wide Importers, and then click OK.
   Account Status	Select Active Account from the drop-down list.
