Q. What did you think of the ICAST Show and your overall visit to Las Vegas? |
Hayashi: I was really honored to attend the 50th anniversary of the ICAST Show, and be a part of it with such a great company as Lucky Craft. It was also a great experience to visit Las Vegas, as the city seems to epitomize the American dream. It was truly amazing. I have participated in fishing shows in Europe and Japan, but I felt the ICAST Show in the United States truly and effectively represented the importance and continued growth of the bass fishing industry. |

Q. What did you think of the Lucky Craft booth and other booths you saw at the show? |
Hayashi: My first impression of the Lucky Craft booth was that it was beautiful. It really displayed the powerful image Lucky Craft has in the United States and around the world. I felt that all the Lucky Craft staff put forth a great effort and excellent craftsmanship to put together such an elaborate display. In addition, I thought the booth was second to none when compared to other lure manufacturer booths I have seen, both at this show and in the past. It had a very dynamic presence at the show and was very unique. |

Q. What was your reaction to the new products, such as the Real Skin, Real California Supreme, Line, Rods and ZPI F-0? What are your expectations for them? |
|
Hayashi: The Real Skin products look extremely real, and I believe the idea and concept behind these lures is wonderful. It looks so real, and I can’t imagine how a fish could resist. |

The Real California Supreme looks to be an excellent Pike fishing bait, especially in Europe where I live. Large lures are usually used for fishing for Pike, and I am confident this bait will do well when competing against other larger-sized Pike fishing lures. |

I’m also very impressed with Lucky Craft’s new line. It was a very effective idea to use different kinds of line. Consumers will be able to better choose which line will be most effective for them in certain conditions.

I have seen both the European and American versions of Lucky Craft’s new rods and am pleasantly surprised at how many varieties exist. The design is simple enough for any type of angler to use effectively. |

Last but not least, I was very pleased to hear Bass Pro Shops admitted the ZPI product into the stores. There are many fishing manufacturers in Japan, and ZPI was chosen above all the other competition. That tells me Bass Pro Shops understands and appreciates the quality and technology that went into creating this product. I was also very excited to have been involved in contributing to this sale. It was a great opportunity. |

Q. Speaking of Bass Pro Shops, how did you like the new store you recently visited in California? |
Hayashi: Bass Pro Shops celebrated a grand opening in Victoria Gardens/Rancho Cucamonga, California on July 18. It is the first Bass Pro Shops in all of California, and it was great to be a part of such a historic event. It is a huge store, and there were many customers in attendance during the grand opening. It was great to see the store had that many fans already. The layout of the store was wonderful. I don’t think you would get tired of all there is to see in there, even if you shopped all day long. I hope to see one open in France very soon. |

Q. What is your goal as you go back to Europe, now that you have seen all of this in the United States? |
|
Hayashi: I would like to tell all the fishermen in Europe about what I saw, felt and experienced on this trip to the United States. I would hope, through my stories and explanations, I could help to make the sport fishing culture more active in Europe. I want to see more fishermen in France travel overseas to fish internationally and experience the fishing culture in another country, as I have been so fortunate to do. |
