Lucky Craft pro, Marty Stone is a master at shallow water cranking. The BDS Marty 1.2 has a slightly longer and narrower body style, similar to the BDS 3. At 2 1/8 inches, it is a perfect fit between the BDS 1 and BDS 2. This professionally tuned, square-billed, shallow-running crankbait will be a perfect compliment to Lucky Craft’s Fat CB BDS series. The BDS series is known for its professional grade quality, durability and consistency right out of the package. These lures represent some of the highest performing crankbaits on the market today.
In the late 1990’s, Lucky Craft looked to do the impossible again: mass manufacture square-bill, wide-wobbling plastic crankbaits which would outperform the traditional buoyant balsa wobblers.
After hundreds of hours of research and development, Lucky Craft released the Fat CB Series in 2001. The first two Fat CB family members were the BDS 3 and BDS 4. Again, Lucky Craft succeeded in their quest for perfection.
When the BDS 3 and 4 came out, Marty Stone took them to a pond and experimented with them for several days.
“I pitted them head-to-head against my best ‘pet’ balsa baits and then proceeded to remove all the balsa wobblers from my boat because I no longer needed them. The wobble, action and buoyancy of the CB’s are just as good.”
Where plastic CB’s take a step above balsa is in pinpoint consistency from bait to bait and extreme durability.
“Now I don’t have such a thing as a ‘pet’ bait because I know every Fat CB will run exactly the same,” Stone notes. “I don’t have to spend hours tuning and sorting them before tournaments.
